Resistance Key Profiles

Sarah Connor Lena Headey

Warrior-mother obsessed with safeguarding John and halting Skynet's genesis before it reaches self-awareness.

John Connor Thomas Dekker

Struggles under the crushing psychological gravity of his prophesied role as savior of mankind.

Cameron Phillips Summer Glau

TOK715 cybernetic unit reprogrammed by future John; uncanny mimicry of human youth and lethal tactical efficiency.

Cromartie Owain Yeoman / Garret Dillahunt

T-888 infiltration unit sent to eliminate John Connor; relentlessly reconstructs flesh and tracks temporal ripples.

Temporal Engineering: The Vault

In the 1999 Pilot episode, Cameron guides Sarah and John to the First National Bank vault. A resistance engineer had infiltrated the construction firm years prior to secretly install a Chrono-Displacement Device inside the secure vault walls.

Temporal Rule: Matter transported through time cannot carry inorganic fabric or weapons unless encased in living flesh. The vault unit bypassed standard temporal fields by generating an isolated magnetic displacement sphere.

By jumping from 1999 directly to 2007, Sarah and John bypassed the intended original 2005 timeline where Sarah was destined to perish from cancer, resetting the tactical battlefield.

The "Turk" & Technological Singularity

In Episode 3, programmer Andy Goode reveals "The Turk", a chess-playing computer system capable of intuitive heuristic self-improvement.

John Connor's Singularity Axiom: "It is a point in time where machines become so smart that they're capable of making even smarter versions of themselves without our help. That's when we can kiss our asses goodbye."

Sarah's dilemma reflects J. Robert Oppenheimer's burden: stopping the inventors before their innocent scientific curiosity unleashes planetary extinction.
